Lions and Sharks 2009

Every twelve years the British Lions rugby team descend on South Africa for what many see as one of sports most epic contests. Monty and a team of divers followed the Lions around the country, watching their matches and immersing themselves in the madness of the tour, visiting townships and parks, and experiencing the greatest shark dives on the planet. The team hung in the warm waters of the Agulhas Current surrounded by feeding black tip; and bronze whaler sharks, glimpsed bull sharks within huge swells off Protea Banks, and watched great whites circle their boat off the Cape. The highlight was breaching great whites in False `Bay - surely one of the most dramatic sights in nature. A tour of camp fires and tall stories, beer and rugby, of lost weekends and good friends. Never to be forgotten.
