As 2010 draws to an end, what's in store for Monty and Reuben in 2011? The dynamic duo have recently returned from six months filming in Connemara on the west coast of Ireland where Monty was working with the Irish Whale and Dolphin Conservation Group. This was something Monty really enjoyed and threw himself into. He was out tagging dolphins and basking sharks, collecting research data, raising funds for a rescue pontoon as well as exploring the area and characters of Connemara. When he wasn't out on his RIB or exploring the area, he could be found playing his guitar outside his cottage, running along the coastline with Reuben or supping a Guinness or two in the local. Reuben, he enjoyed chasing hares, exploring, making so many new friends and well, chasing hares! He had an absolute ball! Monty Halls' Great Irish Escape will be going out on BBC2 early next year so keep an eye on the website. Monty has also written a new book to accompany the series about his time in Ireland. This will be available to buy from the end of January 2011. 

Monty is currently in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia filming a major new BBC series for their world famous Natural History Unit! This is a really exciting project for Monty and will be aired on BBC2 in 2012. Monty can reveal more about his experiences on his return. 

Monty will continue his charity work and is planning a large fundraising event for Spring 2011 - more information will be posted on the website as the plans come together. Monty took part in the fantastic launch of Commando Spirit in London's Tower Hill on October 13th and is now an official supporter of The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund http://www.commandospirit.com/. He will also be running the London Marathon in April again for the WDCS www.wdcs.org.uk.  

There are many ideas and plans being plotted and hatched by Monty and all will soon be revealed when he returns back to Bristol. We are currently looking into producing a DVD of all three of The Great Escape series and will know by the middle of December if we are able to go ahead. Watch this space!
