Monty had a superb time at WhaleFest, the worlds biggest event of it’s kind for whales and dolphins. Over the two day event, 15,000 people attended from over 37 countries. Renowned speakers from the world of wildlife TV, conservation, charity, science and politics descended on Brighton for what would prove to be the best WhaleFest yet.
Monty was joined on stage by friend and BAFTA award winning series director, James Brickell, to talk about the challenges of making the award winning wildlife series ‘Great Barrier Reef’. Boat eating tiger sharks, friendly minke whales, cyclones and the worlds greatest wildlife ship wreck are just some of the adventures they shared with an audience enthralled by their witty recollections.
Have you ever wanted to be a fly on the wall when two wildlife TV presenters are deep in conversation?
Wildlife TV presenter and cameraman, Gordon Buchanan, teamed up with Monty for ‘In conversation with Monty Halls and Gordon Buchanan’. With their easy rapport and absorbing conversation the audience were captivated by their stories of adventure, anecdotes from filming on location and experiences with wild cetaceans.
In addition to these two sessions in the main auditorium, attracting crowds of up to a thousand per session, Monty was delighted to meet and chat to his supporters during several book signings. He also made a special appearance in the ‘Live Lounge’, an informal interview setting with the stunning back drop of Brighton beach.
Plans for the next WhaleFest are already underway. Next year there will be an extended 3 day event from 18-20th March 2016. We’ll see you there! www.whale-fest.com
