Two decades of leading the field
Monty Halls has been in demand nationally and internationally as a speaker for more than two decades. His messaging about group culture, effective leadership, and how to confront the myriad challenges facing us as individuals and organisations have now been heard from Delhi to Denver, from London to Lagos.
Latterly his presentations have addressed the pressing need to move forward in a sustainable and responsible manner as global citizens, drawing on his roles as President of the Galapagos Conservation Trust, and Ambassador for the Durrell Wildlife and Conservation Trust. In particular this explores the ESG challenges facing all companies and organisations, and offers inspiration and examples of how to implement them.

Meet Monty Halls
Former Royal Marines Officer, broadcaster, biologist, writer, leadership coach, and public speaker.
In his time in the forces Monty worked for Nelson Mandela during the turbulent years of the peace process in South Africa, before leaving to retrain as a marine biologist.
He went onto lead diverse teams in some of the most demanding environments on earth, with notable achievements that included the discovery of a sunken city off the coast of India, and achieving the first underwater footage of a rare species of crocodile in Central America. He was awarded the Bish Medal by the Scientific Exploration Society for his services to exploration.
His television career saw him present series for the BBC, National Geographic, Channel Four, Five, and the Discovery Channel. He has written thirteen books on adventure, the marine environment, and elite military forces. His new book “The Killing House” comes out next year.
Drawing from his experiences in Monty has worked with elite sports teams, coaches, and every spectrum of business to explore group culture, team dynamics, growth, and facing up to change.

ESG will loom large for every business in the coming years. With 75% (ONS, 2021) of UK adults saying that they worry about climate change, it is also a discussion that dominates the decisions made by customers, employees, and suppliers. Legislation – once toothless – is now becoming set in stone. But how do you create a positive attitude towards sustainable practices? How do you engender a positive mindset in terms of looking outwards at the wider world, as opposed to inwards at the obstacles opposing change?
Monty addresses these issues, illustrates that positive progress is eminently possible without impacting the bottom line, and confronts the key question “Just what can I do, and what can we do, to create a positive impact on the wider world?”
